Anthony Tocco, a high school coach and former collegiate lacrosse player comes to us with over 30 years of lacrosse experience. Coach Tocco started his long lacrosse career at South Kent School in Connecticut. Tocco, a team captain, was also named to the Western New England All- Prep team in 1981. He attended Ithaca College as a pre-med student where he continued his lacrosse career as a long pole midfielder and Defenseman.
Tocco began his impressive coaching career in 1988 after receiving a Masters Degree from Cortland State University. After two years as a club team, Coach Tocco came together with Coach Bob Slate of Saugerties formed the first ever section 9 lacrosse program at Kingston High School in 1990. As the Head Coach of the Kingston High School lacrosse team, Coach Tocco amassed a total of five Section 9 titles and six divisional championships as well as producing 5 All Americans. Coach Tocco received Section 9 Coach of the Year honors in 2003. In 2006 at the Lacrosse National Convention Tocco was inducted into the US Lacrosse Century Club for his 100th career win. Coach Tocco was also named Man of the Year in 2009 for his contributions to the sport of Lacrosse. In 2010, Coach Tocco founded and still runs all aspects of the Rondout Valley High School lacrosse program. The Rondout Valley program has won four Divisional titles, three Section 9 titles and a State Regional game. In 2015 he was again named US Lacrosse Section 9 Coach of the Year as well as the Times Herald Record Coach of the Year. In 2019 Coach Tocco was again recognized by US Lacrosse for his winning record, surpassing 200 interscholastic wins.
Coach Tocco believes in sportsmanship, the value of competition, teamwork, dedication, hard work, and enjoyment; all these traits are necessary to excel in lacrosse and in life. Coach Tocco is involved in all aspects of Ridge Lacrosse.
Coach Tocco is entering his first season as the Head Coach for Ridge Lacrosse Club’s Varsity team. Tocco graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 2015. While at Rondout he was a member and captain of both the boys’ lacrosse and soccer teams. He also swam for Kingston High School his senior year. At Rondout, Tocco was a four time All-Division player, a three time All-Section player as well as a two time All-American. Tocco led Rondout to three Division Championships, two Section 9 Championships as well as the second ever State Tournament win for Section 9. Tocco went on to play collegiately at Plattsburgh State University. Tocco was a four year letterwinner and two year starter for Plattsburgh State University (2016-2020). He was a member of the 2017 SUNYAC Championship team and he also was the 2017 SUNYAC Elite 20 award recipient. In 2019, Tocco ranked third in the SUNYAC Conference and second on the team in caused turnovers. Tocco graduated Cum Laude from Plattsburgh State University with a degree in TV-Video Production and a minor in Athletic Coaching. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education. Coach Tocco resides in Kerhonkson with his family. His sister Jenna is the Assistant Swim Coach at Bard College, his mother Lori is a former swim coach with the Kingston YMCA Hurricanes and his father Anthony is a teacher and lacrosse coach at Rondout Valley High School.
Coach Whalen enters his first season as the Assistant Coach for Ridge Lacrosse Club’s Varsity team. Whalen graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 2014. While at Rondout, he helped the program win their first ever Section 9 Championship in 2014 as well as two Divisional Championships in 2013 and 2014. He was a captain for the Ganders in the 2014 season where he was crucial to the team’s success. Whalen was named an All-Division midfielder in his senior campaign where he scored 24 goals and had 4 assists. After graduating from Rondout Valley, Whalen continued his academic and athletic career at St. Bonaventure University. At St. Bonaventure he was a part of the men’s club lacrosse team for four seasons while completing his undergraduate degree in Physical Education. Whalen was an integral member of the team’s success. Coach Whalen is currently the Assistant Coach for the Varsity team at Rondout Valley High School. Whalen currently resides in Cottekill.
Coach Schlosser is entering his first season as the Assistant Coach for the Ridge Lacrosse Club's Varsity team. Schlosser was a 3 year letterwinner for Rondout Valley where helped the Ganders win a Division Championship in his Senior campaign. Coach Schlosser went on to play at SUNY Delhi for 3 seasons. He was the leading scorer for Delhi his Freshmen campaign. He went on to be a captain his Sophomore and Junior seasons where the Broncos went on to win back to back conference titles. Gavin was an All-Conference player his Sophomore season. Coach Schlosser has over eight years of coaching experience. Schlosser earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management as well as Recreation and Sports Facility Management.
Coach Burkard is coming to the Ridge Lacrosse Club as a JV assistant coach for the Ridge athletes. Burkard graduated from Rondout Valley in 2013 as an LSM of the lacrosse team helping win a Divisional title. He went on to play collegiate lacrosse at SUNY Delhi from 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. Contributed on a team that won back to back conference championships. SUNY Delhi reached the Semi-Finals of the National NJCAA Tournament. After SUNY Delhi, Coach Burkard continued to coach lacrosse in the surrounding area ever since.
Cole Neville graduated from The Storm King School in 2017. While at The Storm King School, Cole was a 3 time team captain, 3 time All-Division All Star as well as a 2 time All-Division Player of the Year. After his time at The Storm King School, Cole went on to study at the University at Albany. Currently, Cole is a member of the UAlbany Men’s Club Lacrosse Team serving as the secretary. He is studying Biology and Chemistry. Cole has worked closely with former Team USA and professional FOGO specialist, Greg Gurenlian. Cole will be working as our faceoff specialist. Coach Neville currently resides in Cornwall, New York.
Kyle Meoli graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 2017. While at Rondout Valley, Kyle helped the Ganders win three Section 9 Titles (2014, 2015 and 2016) as well as three Divisional Titles (2013, 2014 and 2015). Meoli was a two time All-Division player, an All-Section player and was selected to the fifth team All-State. Coach Meoli was named the Gander’s Captain his senior year. Meoli is currently playing at The College of St. Rose. At St. Rose, Meoli has been starting since his freshman campaign for the Golden Knights. He is a key member of the Knights midfield. Not only is he a weapon on the field, Meoli is an honor roll student. Kyle has made the NE-10 Honor Roll every semester. Kyle will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in History and plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Education. Meoli currently resides in Kerhonkson with his family.
